I’ve been away from the “artworld” for long time (I’m 79 yrs), but I still use soft pastels, inks, guache.

Your use of tools and mediums I do not recognize - agile, flowing, breathtaking changes and transformations!

Would you share? Is that a plastic tube filled w watercolor and a sponge or felt-tip? And colors from markers seem to so intense, rich!

This video is very inspiring!

TY

Hello Frances! Thank you so much for your kind words. You must be referring to my waterbrush. It is a brush with a refillable barrel and favoured by sketchers as we no longer have to worry about buckets of water for mixing watercolour. I also used acrylic markers (Posca) and some watercolour pencils (Caran D'ache). My watercolours are from Daniel Smith. Hope this is helpful.

Chaos from structure.

Over-egging and complicating from a need to be seen to be doing something, a need to make something better or grander without the skill or talent to do so…the mindset of politicians.

Thanks for sharing Paul!

I kept waiting for a rest into order and left with a sense of freedom to be in disorder. The introduction of a new medium was like unlocking a new character. I love the range!

It’s like watching American Politics refactoring itself.

I just keep expecting, beyond reason, for coherence to emerge, as my anxiety steadily grows as it becomes more and more grotesque.

If that’s the “meaning” behind this piece, bravo.

If that’s not, this is the zone where people accuse each other of not understanding what art is and we agree to disagree.

Was there any coherence in a Biden painting?

I don’t relate. This comment sounds like something that belongs on a Facebook comments section or shit-talking subreddit.

Good points and thank you for the connection to the current unrest and

Instability. Yes the process is design to unravels and chaos is encouraged. I am looking for fault lines, tension and poetry. Unsuspended discomfort too.

Yeah, nailed it. Man, it builds a compounding anxiety of despair, and starts a troubling internal conversation that brings me into relationship with my desire for order and coherence.

This is like making music. Starting with 4 chords, stretching, reversing, resampling, adding more melodies and harmonies until you have no idea how you just made what you’ve made. Also like writing a story. It’s magic!

Yes it is very much like music and travel. One small step will lead to the next and snow ball into a big exciting mess. Detours and happy accidents are part of my classroom too.
